Program Overview

Setting Description:
Logroño is a vibrant city of 150,000 located in the wine-making region of La Rioja, in the north-central part of Spain. The Castillian language has its roots in the nearby monasteries of San Millán de la Cogolla. The "Camino de Santiago," a religious pilgrimage route, also runs through this province. Students enrolled at the Universidad de la Rioja, Middlebury's host institution, immerse themselves in Spanish language, regional culture and cuisine. Logroño offers a lively population and relaxed pace of life in a location with very few English-speakers.
