As participant, you will work as part of a team of 360 people representing (almost) every country, and what you develop will be presented at the United Nations and be implemented for the good of global society. You will lead hundreds of thousands of people, from World Merit and beyond, in taking action and ensuring a better future for all. You will start by getting to know the 360 participants in the World Merit community platform. After researching issues, this group will gather in the United States, with much of the program facilitated at Indian Head Camp, before the conclusion convenes in the United Nations in New York. The period from 27 August - 12 September 2016 will prove incredibly important for you as an individual and we will work to make sure it is also the start of something important for the planet. You can find out more on our website, this is also where you will find the application to apply.
WHAT YOU WILL LEAVE WITH Our program has a lot of benefits for delegates. This has different levels. -Professional Development Skills. You will gain a lot of professional skills like how to build a team, work within a team, build projects and implement projects. Workshops and talks by thought- and world leaders helps you develop your professional attitude. Working with people from all over the world is getting more important and learning how to take this into account will benefit this greatly. Working on a project you care about, you will reach out to potential partners, supporters and sponsors to help you scale this. -Personal Development Skills. By building professional skills, you will develop yourself personally. Not only will we focus on developing skills, we will also focus on your purpose in life, your passion and how to best utilize your talents. After this program, you will be more confident, are more focused on your life purpose, able to initiate projects and work together. -A Sustainable Project Plan. You will have worked with your team on your SDG and will leave with a project plan you are implementing in your communities. If you’ve collected supporters, you are going to continue working to scale your project and make a lasting impact in the world. Friends from all over the world. How cool is that. -Connections with thought leaders. Global leaders that we have connected to your SDG will mentor and support you in developing your project plans, and they can become lasting mentors if you build these connections during the program in the USA.
