Program Description:

William James College offers a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an emphasis in Health and Behavioral Medicine. Graduates of this program can work as mental health counselors, in both general practice and medical settings.

Students will have developed basic competencies in being a key member of a team, ready to conduct brief assessments, consult with colleagues from other health care disciplines, and treat patients and families in both brief and extended models of care. 

Graduates will have fulfilled all the educational and pre-master's field experience requirements to qualify for the license as a mental health counselor (LMHC) in Massachusetts. We enroll new students into our Clinical Mental Health Counseling MA program every January and late August.
