The Korea program offers courses that introduce you to the business, politics, economics, philosophy, religion and language of Korea and its position as one of the most rapidly developing nations in East Asia. Downtown Seoul is a city of opposites bustling with palaces, city gates and temples next to government offices, embassies, theaters, shopping and more all just a short distance from Yonsei University. Seoul is also home to many IT corporations and is emerging as one the most wired cities in the world, therefore allowing students to maximize the opportunities offered by the communications revolution. Korea is traditionally known as the Land of the Morning Calm, with a temperate climate while experiencing all four seasons. Over 70 of the land is mountainous with rugged ranges and deep valleys located in the eastern regions. The coastline is dotted with bays and it has some of the highest tides in the world. Beaches on the eastern side are sandy, while the western side consists mainly of mud flats and rocky shores.
All students must attend the mandatory Orientation session provided by Yonsei University. Students participating in the noncredit Special Activity Series activities must choose their activity by Orientation day. Yonsei University also offers an extensive fourday field trip, taking the students on a tour around Korea. This trip is designed to acquaint students with the historic, scenic and modern Korea. Yonsei University has organized the International Buddy Program to promote interaction between international students and Yonsei students. It is aimed to help international students adjust to their new environment and to learnexperience Korean culture by encountering it firsthand from their Yonsei buddies. Likewise, we encourage our students to introduce and share their culture and lifestyle with their Korean buddies broadening the worldview for both.
Program fees include tuition, orientation and health insurance.

- I Seoul U10/30/18
I studied abroad in Seoul, South Korea at Yonsei University during my Spring 2018 Semester. South Korea was always one of the top countries that I wanted to visit and I was determined to find a program that would offer me support with classes and finances.
During my time abroad, I was able to attend the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, celebrate my birthday, attend various concerts, visit palaces, and live life to the fullest in a fun and welcoming environment. I was determined to travel throughout the country and visit many cities, including: Daegu, Gwangju, Busan, and Sokcho. As a business major, I was able to take a couple business classes along with a Korean Language class and Korean Culture & Music class. I am grateful to have been able to study through USAC and now that I’ve returned to my home country, I am now serving as the USAC Ambassador for my school to promote USAC and other study abroad programs!
