Program Overview

Program Description:

The Enterprise and the Environment Summer School is designed, delivered and managed by the University of Oxford. It is a programme intended for undergraduates, as well as recent graduates and young professionals passionate about leading environmental change in business, NGOs or the government sector.

The Summer School combines our world class faculty, cutting edge research and expert practitioners; they will explore topics with you such as environmental economics and policy, enterprise management, financial markets and investment to approach critical environmental challenges in the 21st century.

Whilst many summer schools operate in Oxford and hire University facilities only a very small handful of University departments hold their own summer programmes. The Enterprise and the Environment Summer School is one of these precious few and is aligned with the Smith School's internal research and taught to the same standards and by the same academics as our year-round commitments. In total we will provide you with over 50 hours of teaching across the two weeks and intersperse this with extra-curricular activities, networking opportunities and outings.

Setting Description:
The course teaching is intensive, with lectures, class discussions and exercises constituting around six hours each day, and will take place in the Oxford University School of Geography and the Environment’s teaching facilities. Outside of the classroom, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the beautiful city and all it has to offer whilst getting to know your classmates and developing a network of international peers and connections for the future.
Cost:
2850 GBP. A discounted early bird price of £2850 is available to all students who pay for the Summer School before 12 April 2019. After this date the standard fee of £3100 will be applied to students when securing their place.
