University College Cork’s online Masters in Public Health (MPH) is offered through the Department of Epidemiology & Public Health, which is part of the Faculty of Medicine and Health. This online MPH builds on the success and principles of the campus-based MPH, which is the largest MPH program in Ireland.
The aim of this program is to provide students from a range of different professional backgrounds, academic and practical development in relation to the theory and practice of public health. It provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary for public health on a global scale. The emphasis is on the use of evidence-based healthcare and practice that will enable participants to put public health principles into effect in both research and professional contexts. At all times, the online MPH offers high quality research-led teaching.
The overall aim of this program is to offer professionals a flexible option to study while they continue to work and, in many cases, to validate their professional experience through research-led teaching and learning. Students are guided and facilitated to attain valuable research skills throughout the course by experienced teaching and research staff.
