- We are excited to announce the 2012 Preparing Global Leaders Summit, taking place in Moscow, Russia from August 5-12. Participants will take short courses on democracy, security, new journalism, and leadership and communication from a distinguished, award-winning faculty. The "Preparing Global Leaders Summit" is a premiere seven-day program for the best students and young professionals in the world. The Summit is being organized by the Moscow Higher School of Social and Economic Sciences with the help of both the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration and Georgetown University.
The program seeks to prepare aspiring global scholar-leaders with the tools that are necessary for effective leadership in an increasingly complex world. Course titles include “Leadership and Communication,” “International and Human Security,” “Democracy and Authoritarianism,” and “Social Media, Technology and Journalism.” Summit delegates will demonstrate their skills and knowledge through media, speech, parliamentary, and conflict resolution simulations and competitions. The Summit faculty includes top professors from Georgetown University, including Sam Potolicchio, Marc Howard, Lise Howard, and Garrett Graff.
This program is a great opportunity for students interested in expanding their leadership skills, increasing their knowledge on critical global issues and international relations, and traveling abroad to develop relationships with a diverse group of like-minded peers. Past leadership Summits conducted by Professor Potolicchio have received extremely positive reviews from participating students and faculty. Students will leave the summit with improved leadership and communication skills, and with excellent experience working in an exciting, diverse, international setting.
- Setting Description:
- The Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) is Russia’s largest educational institution, holding a leading position in social sciences and humanities. It is one of Russia's top ten universities, providing a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs and offering guest lectures by prominent Russian business and political leaders.
- Cost:
- The total cost of the program is $1450 USD, which includes the tuition fee, hotel accommodation, transfer to/from the airport, two meals a day, coffee and snack in between class sessions, a formal orientation dinner, a graduation and awards ceremony dinner, a bus tour of Moscow, and visa support. This does not include transportation to/from Moscow. For those who do not need accommodation in Moscow, the program cost is $950.
