Program Description:

The RITA (Rigorous Immersion and Targeted Achievement) Intensive English Program is an 8-week full-immersion course taught by certified TESOL and TEFL educators at a premier Academy certified by the University of Cambridge in England. Students can take standard academic courses to continue their regular studies and interests, all taught in English, and will also receive half a day of English every day - including public speaking, essay writing, creative writing, and grammar. The program also includes two weekend trips - one to Chicago and one to a seasonal destination.

The entire curriculum at The Academy of the Fox Cities is certified by University of Cambridge International Examinations. The school is the only K-12 Academy in the United States to have their entire curriculum carry Cambridge certification. The education received at the Academy is recognized around the world as a gold standard, and is transferable to nearly any school. Additionally, students are able to continue their studies at the school (separate from this program) to pursue O level and A level preparation at the same time as their language studies.

Students in the RITA Intensive English Program consistently see outstanding improvements in their English ability. Because they use their English not only in an English classroom, but also in standard subjects, in extracurriculars, and in planned activities, they acquire practical, applicable speaking and writing skills that bring them closer to fluency much faster than other methods.

Setting Description:

The Academy of the Fox Cities in located in Appleton, Wisconsin, the heart of the Fox Valley region. The area is made up of 10 small cities that combine to form one medium-sized metropolitan area with a population of more than 250,000. We make every effort to locate host families for students, however in times of high enrollment, other arrangements may be made with a minimal additional cost. The community is extremely safe, welcoming, and has a rich cultural diversity.

Cost:

The program cost is $3,750 for 8 weeks of study. This cost does not include airfare, visa costs, or travel insurance.
