Duration: 2 weeks (July 19 to July 30, 2021)

In this Online Course you explore sustainable energy technologies especially in the context of buildings. As a participant, you learn about building performance simulation, methods for energy supply of buildings, as well as energy trading and power plant management. The classes cover fundamentals of modeling and simulation to carry out dynamic building simulations. Furthermore, a case study featuring energy efficient technology and a business simulation game featuring energy trading and power plant management enable students to apply their knowledge in a practical manner. Overall, you reach an understanding of energy efficience for buildings on a micro-level, as well as considering connections on a macro-level.

Setting Description:
The Institute of Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Building (E3D) and two visiting professors of TH Bingen University of Applied Sciences conduct the academic content. E3D's research areas include energy in buildings and districts, ergonomics of the indoor environment, building information modelling, and computational engineering.

Requirements:
You are a B.Sc./B.E. student enrolled at a renowned university, have profound knowledge of the English language and are studying mechanical engineering or a related field. The minimum age to participate is 18 years. Students should have completed the first year of studies.
