Program Description:

Raffles University Iskandar (RUI) is a multi-faculty and comprehensive university approved by the Malaysian government. Riding on the vast experiences of its parent company, Raffles Education Corporation is the largest private education group in Asia Pacific. RUI will be a first of its kind, Asian-based Malaysian university that prides itself as a practice-oriented university with intensive curricula and practical hands-on experiences that give students maximum preparation for future careers. RUI was established by Raffles Iskandar Sdn. Bhd., a 80%:20% subsidiary owned by Raffles Education Corporation (REC) and Education at Iskandar Sdn Bhd (EISB). The university was formally approved by Malaysia’s Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) on 31 October 2011. Currently operating from its temporary premises at Menara Kotaraya, Jalan Trus, Johor Bahru, RUI will develop a new state-of-the-art campus, on a 65-acre plot of land located in Iskandar Malaysia’s EduCity Zone by 2013. RUI’s strategic location in Iskandar sets the university in a secure and growing state economy with high potential in both economic and cultural development. Students can expect a vibrant and dynamic nurturing learning experience that will see their transformation into world-class professionals.

RUI will be offering comprehensive undergraduate and postgraduate programmes including Fine Art, Design, Business Administration, Accountancy, Education Management, Applied Psychology and Information Communication Technology.

Setting Description:

RUI will be operating in a campus in Menara Kotaraya in downtown Johor Bahru before moving to Iskandar Malaysia’s EduCity zone by the end of 2013/2014. This strategic location, combined with the successful history of REC's programs will position students for future success in a promising and vibrant environment. Menara Kotaraya is centrally-located in the middle of Johor's bustling town area. It is situated along Jalan Trus, next to Persada Johor Convention Centre and Puteri Pacific Hotel. The school is also approximately 1km north of City Square Shopping Centre and Johor Bahru Immigration and Customs Complex. The scenery of majestic Bukit Timbalan government administrative building can be seen clearly through the glass windows of our Kotaraya campus.
