Program Description:
The School of Business and Economics is delighted to invite applications to our new International Summer School in July 2014 from students with a demonstrable interest in sports, management and enterprise. The Summer School is a two week program, open to all international undergraduate and postgraduate students. We expect it to be particularly attractive to current business or sports students interested in pursuing a career in international sports management, or in a sport-related social enterprise. Scholarships are available for the summer school, via a competitive application process.

The modules will be intensive and challenging - and lots of fun! You will gain experience of working in international teams and an understanding of the issues involved in your chosen pathway and will develop your own intercultural skills. In 2014 there will be two modules on offer. Students must choose between: Module A: International Issues in Sports Management Module B: Entrepreneurship and Social Enterprise in Sport. Each module is worth 10 Loughborough credits - 5 ECTS credits. Teaching will be carried out by staff of Loughborough University and a range of guest speakers from the world of sport and it will be supported by visits to companies and organisations involved in sport. Setting Description:
The Summer School will be based on Loughborough’s beautiful single site campus in the heart of England – nearly 450 acres offering a wide range of high quality student facilities. There are plenty of cafés, restaurants and shops, and large expanses of green space. The campus also has an incredible concentration of world-class sports training, and sport science facilities Trips to London, the Olympic Park, Manchester City FC and Silverstone Grand Prix circuit are planned, making this program a can't miss event!
Cost:
The fee per student will be £2300. This will cover: Tuition Accommodation in student housing on the campus Breakfast and an evening meal during weekdays and some meals at the weekend. Lunch on teaching days Programme field trips – including an overnight stay in London Other subsistence costs will not be very high. You will need to pay for some meals on non-teaching days.
