Most are unfamiliar with the wonders of Tanzania. Just picture this: pristine white-sand beaches, rain forests and vibrant coral reefs for snorkelling, diving or swimming with dolphins. Many volunteers choose to travel to Zanzibar during their free time, and hike Mt. Kilimanjaro after their program has ended. Exploring Mt. Meru Waterfall and going on Safari to Lake Manyara, Ngrongoro Crater and the Serengeti are also some recommended adventures to consider. If that’s not enough to make you want to browse flight prices, then consider the community and children you will be benefiting. Volunteers highly regard the Childcare and Teaching projects which are rewarding opportunities to connect with the children of Arusha and lend a helping hand to the local schools and day care centers. Volunteers who are in medical or nursing school can participate on the Medical project, helping in any variety of wards in a local hospital. HIV/AIDS Support gives the opportunity to help victims become more self-sufficient. For those that are interested in African wildlife the Animal Welfare project is a satisfying option.
