Program Overview

Program Description:
Teaching English in X'ian, community work with children near X'ian and Panda Conservation near Xi'an, China.

You’d need a lifetime to see everything China has to offer so it’s best to start early and don’t make any dinner plans, as it’s bound to take a while. In a city over 3000 years old, the past is all around you. Several dynasties made it their capital and have left it with an eclectic mix of style and design, as well as with the famous Terracotta Warriors. Luckily for modern visitors the past lives peacefully with the modern, with the Maoist doctrine happy to make allowances for cappuccinos, ipods and swanky restaurants. Your time at the project will be similarly fun, with songs and games creating a relaxed atmosphere in which to learn. We’ll also include our TEFL certification to help you on your way.

Program includes pre-departure training, full support in country, meet and greet service and food and accommodation in most cases
Setting Description:
The teaching programs are based in the busy city of Xi'an and you're ideally located to explore the great metropolis during the evenings and weekends, to see the famous sights including: The Terracotta Warriors, Chinese Gardens, historic Muslim Quarter, The City Wall, Bell Tower, Drum Tower and Pagodas. At the Panda project you will be working in a Chinese conservation center. that aims to preserve some of the world's most endangered species. These include: Giant Pandas, Golden Monkeys, the Crested Ibis, the Takin; which is a large sheep-like creature that lives only in China and Bhutan, as well as the Sika, which is similar in appearance to a deer. The Golden Monkeys and the crested Ibis are both indigenous to China.
