- HomeSchool Beach Academy Nosara (HSBAN) is located in the one of the most beautiful places in the world where the jungle meets the beach. Students study in a small group environment that allows each individual to learn while developing interpersonal skills, such as working effectively as a team. They also take Spanish courses and have the ability to develop language through daily conversation outside of classes. As a private, U.S. satellite school our rigorous curriculum meets the national learning objectives and students receive high school credits for their courses completed.
Extracurricular activities include surf (Nosara was recently placed in the top 20 best surfing beaches in the world by National Geographic), soccer and outdoor adventures (kayaking the river mouth, zip lining through the canopy of the rain forest, stand up paddle board tours, snorkeling reefs...) Students will leave with lifetime memories and experiences.
Field trips include over night trips to volcanoes, thermal hot springs, crocodile spotting, snorkeling reefs, visiting monkey sanctuaries/rescue centers, waterfall hikes, turtle arribadas and many more.

Some of our projects include studying and participating in the Howler Monkey population, restoration of our coastlines trees (Bari-Guiones project) and the nesting of the olive-ridley sea turtles just to name a few. Students are immersed in the Costa Rican culture and study side by side with locals and expats from around the world.

- Where the jungle meets the beach, the wildlife and nature is only what you see in National Geographic. Nosara is home to a diverse population of locals and foreigners that work together to preserve the natural beauty. The Nosara Biological Reserve is a 50 hectare private nature reserve. You will see an abundance of wildlife such as Howler Monkeys, white face monkeys, sea turtles, occasional whales, ant eaters, a variety of birds and many more species that only exist in the rain forests that surround our beautiful white sand beaches. We are located on the Nicoya Peninsula along the Pacific Coast.
