- The Master’s Degree programmes combine acquired knowledge of the subject Fashion Design with new and innovative approaches. The objective is to merge practice-oriented education with a conceptional methodology so as to expand their capabilities and career prospects. This study programme enables students to develop and promote their individual identities during the respective major study course.
MA. Graduates at FDI are educated to have an understanding of contemporary fashion trends and their practical realisation, based on the sound expertise of the relevant context and the available marketing opportunities.
To ensure an international focus, FDI offers three major study courses within the Master’s programme. In the major study courses, the respective projects are planned and executed both within the group, as well as in joint cross-thematic workshops. This provides the students with an insight into the fashion world and therefore encourages the creative process in all three areas.

MA. INTERNATIONAL FASHIONDESIGN The core activities in International Fashion Design focus on the current trends in the global fashion business reduced to their essence and further developed by the students. Therefore, linking theoretical and conceptional working methods is a key element and distinctive feature in relation to previous courses of study. The focus is on identifying individual working practices and the development of a personalised style. The objective is to train internationally deployable fashion designers who, in the light of the MA. study programme, have demonstrated their ability to work conceptually and are therefore capable of designing fashion for a target group or production based on various premises.
- Setting Description:
- The selection process at our institute deviates from that of state-run universities. We place emphasis on individual assistance and accept students all year round. In addition to his/her abilities and motivation, we also consider the personality of each applicant, therefore the personal interview takes centre stage alongside the submission of a creative portfolio and completion of a questionnaire. APPLICATION: A detailed application and the successful participation in a personal interview decide on the admission.
