Program Description:

Located at your program destination, Elective Africa connects you with meaningful learning opportunities with immense hands on experience, cultural immersion and fun.

Through our partnerships with hospitals that provide a variety of specialties distributed across various departments, you will get a well crafted medical elective abroad experience and an extensive scope of learning. Our programs are customized to suit your interests and specifications giving you quality hands on experience under supervision as a student on a health degree program.

We take of everything so that you can enjoy the experience and a successful trip abroad that includes; a personalized hospital elective placement, adventure packages, complete with supervision and various medical activities exposure in pediatrics, emergency, obstetrics and gynecology etc. You will also be housed in our private students accommodation that comes with tasty meals, internet connectivity and laundry. We also have a fun loving incountry support teams in your placement locations to provide you with extensive pre-departure and on-ground support.

As a healthcare student, participating in a hospital internship or a medical elective abroad gives you an opportunity to experience a unique health system different from what you are accustomed to.

You will improve your clinical skills and cultural competence though clinical shadowing; gain intensive and extensive hands-on exposure to various healthcare specialties; Challenge your critical thinking ability; learn to be innovative and resourceful; and witnessing unique conditions such as tropical diseases.

Setting Description:

You have a variety of settings to choose from. We provide rural, urban and coastal placement. You also have an opportunity to experience a public, private or mission based hospital placement.
