- Program Description:
- Today’s design world calls for well-rounded professionals who have mastered a wide range of practical techniques and tools and are able to bring an multidisciplinary perspective to the social, economic, political, and environmental issues that connect us all. At the COMAS Center for Interdisciplinary Design (CID), we offer designers and students platforms from which to explore, innovate, and implement design while intertwining theory and practice, technology and humanity, designer and community, art and commerce.
The CID’s Design Semester provides ambitions designers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on design experience in Israel. We invite undergraduate and graduate design students and early-career design professionals from around the world to choose from our range of design studios, workshops, and courses to create a semester experience that is tailored to your interests and career goals. You will study and work alongside Israeli students, and all work can be completed in English.
At the end of the program, participants will have a more diverse and professionalized portfolio of work, new skills, and technical abilities – going beyond just the academic knowledge that you might get through coursework and exams alone.
The program is open to individuals with an academic background in art or design – any field from interior and industrial design through to visual design and video/animation. Participants may be advanced undergraduate students (third or fourth year of study), graduate students, recent graduates, and early-career design professionals. All work can be completed in English – knowledge of Hebrew is not necessary.
