Program Overview
- Program Description:
- Each spring, we offer a selection of intensive week-long multidisciplinary workshops in the field of design, taught entirely in English. Design students can choose one of 5-6 workshop weeks, at least 3 of which are taught in English, led by specialists from outside Israel. In addition to lectures and classroom activities, the workshop week may also include excursions, tours, and exhibitions, and each workshop culminates with a project presentation.
The goal of workshops is to involve students in a unique design experience that is may not be possible otherwise within the regular curriculum. Such an experience contributes to students' new creative knowledge.
The focus areas of past Design Workshops have included creating furniture in the College of Management - Academic Studies (COMAS) Fablab, discovering the art of paper and folding techniques, exploring composite behavior in chairs, and designing a museum exhibition under the theme of “Objects, Time, Place, and Memory”.
