City Expeditions: London and Barcelona is an 8-week program that takes place from the end of May to the end of July. Course subject areas include art and art history, business, cultural studies, history, humanities, social sciences, and Spanish language and literature. Earn 12-15 credits this summer in just 2 months! Travel throughout two of Western Europe’s most exciting cities on our multi-country summer abroad experience! There are many reasons to study on our City Expeditions: London & Barcelona program, but here are a few of the key highlights that make this program unique. Earn 12-15 credits in 2 months while seeing the best of Western Europe Live with British and international students in residence halls Spanish courses available at all levels; start from the ground level, build upon your previous experience, or perfect your abilities! Try the local language of Catalan in Spain to really fit in Visit famous places such as the Tower of London, Shakespeare’s Globe Theater, and the British Museum Attend a Catalan cooking class or a Flamenco show Live in two of Western Europe’s most exciting cities: London & Barcelona!
Setting Description:
City Expeditions: London and Barcelona is a true study-travel program! You will spend the first 4 weeks studying at the University of Roehampton, on the southern edge of London. Frequent excursions around England's capital city enhance classroom work and provide you with a truly British experience. Watch the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace, take a ride on the London Eye for a spectacular view, see Big Ben and Abbey Road, and grab a friend to check out the hopping downtown music scene or one of the West End's many theaters. London’s diverse population is yet another reason why this one of the most exciting cities in the world. On the second half of your program, you will then travel on to the heart of Catalan culture in Barcelona, Spain for the last 4 weeks. In addition to working on your Spanish, you will have countless opportunities to lounge on the beach, take a cooking class, and explore the delights of Mediterranean culture!
