Degree Level:

Program Overview

Program Description:

Assist and support a summer camp project for children and teens that study at Ciudad Santa María.

You will work with one NGO that supports communities in need with an educational project called Ciudad Santa María, while getting to know more about Dominican culture, Spanish language, and interesting places. It gives you the broad opportunity to develop skills on communication and leadership, take a short Spanish language class, and explore the fascinating Dominican nature and culture, architecture, museums, and more. You will work on a high-standard summer camp along with other Dominican teens that volunteer, organizing intentional educative and fun activities for children and teens.

During your stay you’ll live with a welcoming local host family, practicing Spanish as you prepare and share meals, shop at markets, learn local customs, and enjoy family routines and recreation.

In your free time, hang out with new friends, play dominoes in the park, catch a local baseball game, and enjoy delicious local dishes like tostones and empanadas.

Please see our website for tuition information.
