Program Description:

A Health Unit Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the daily operations of a health care setting run efficiently. This important role serves as a link between physicians, nursing staff, patients, and other departments. The Certificate in Health Unit Coordinator program provides the industry knowledge to successfully work with hospitals, physician clinics, nursing homes, insurance companies, and other health care facilities.

Health Unit Coordinator Certification

Students will take a proctored certification test provided by the National Association of Health Unit Coordinators. The proctored test takes place on the Charter College campus nearest to the student. If the student is not within a reasonable commuting distance to a campus, Charter will find a proctoring site close to the student’s home or, if the student has the required technology, will arrange live remote proctoring for the student to take the exam from home.
