HVAC/R service technicians provide comfortable home and office environments for customers of all sorts. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, HVAC/R service technician jobs are expected to grow by 34 percent between 2010 and 2020, resulting in an addition of 90,300 jobs. Through the HVAC/R diploma program at CCNN, you’ll obtain the knowledge and advanced technical skills needed for an entry-level position in this high-demand field.
At CCNN, you’ll learn the primary functions of a successful HVAC/R service technician, which include:
Installing various heating and cooling devices
Performing routine maintenance and repair work
Replacing filters, ducts and other integral parts of complex HVAC/R systems
Conserving, recovering and recycling refrigerants used in air-conditioning and refrigeration systems
Following blueprints, design specifications and manufacturer instructions to install motors, compressors, condensing units, evaporators, piping and other HVAC/R componentsWithin the program, you’ll take 99 credit hours of HVAC/R Service Technician coursework, including:
HVAC/R Fundamentals
Electrical Theory and Application
Heating Systems
Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Systems
Upon completion of the HVAC/R Service Technician program, you’ll be eligible to sit for the national EPA Section 608 certification exam.
