Program Description:

Join us for a veterinary medicine experience in Costa Rica and see what being a vet is all about: large and small animal medicine, husbandry, pathology and surgery — in paradise. Work alongside professional veterinarians with each day blending academics, lab practice and field work. Learn to draw blood, apply sutures and perform diagnostic tests. Assist with local spay/neuter programs. Volunteer at local animal clinics. Plus attend lectures on topics such as anatomy, immunology, diagnostics, pathology and animal nutrition. Take breaks for your vet work to go whitewater rafting, zip lining and hiking through the lush jungles of Costa Rica.

Earn 3 college Animal Science credits through Lesley University while gaining hands-on, real world experience in veterinary medicine. Learn to draw blood, administer anesthesia and perform diagnostic tests. Assist with local spay/neuter programs. Attend lectures on topics such as anatomy, immunology, diagnostics, pathology and animal nutrition.
 

Setting Description:

Covered in rainforest. Surrounded by wildlife. Ripe for hands-on achievement. In this green volcanic country, wild vervet monkeys play in the interior rainforest.
