Picture yourself in Madrid, Spain in the fall of 2017 experiencing this capital city and studying Spanish language, Spanish culture, communication and marketing, and potentially interning at a Spanish company or non-profit organization! Madrid is the largest city in Spain with a population of roughly 3.3 million. While Madrid possesses a modern infrastructure, it has preserved the look and feel of many of its historic neighborhoods and streets.
Its landmarks include the Royal Palace of Madrid; the Teatro Real (Royal Theatre) with its restored 1850 Opera House; the Buen Retiro Park, founded in 1631, and the 19th-century National Library building which contains some of Spain’s historical archives. You will also have the opportunity to visit a variety of art museums including the Prado Museum, the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum. Included in the program are excursions to Barcelona and the Basque country.

- Requirements:
- The Fall Semester in Madrid Program is open to students who are at least 18 years of age by the departure date to Madrid. One semester of Spanish is recommended but not required. You do not have to be a Spanish, communication or marketing major. If you are currently enrolled at another school, you must enroll at SBCC for the Fall Semester of 2017. You are required to attend an orientation meeting scheduled in August. Additional meetings may be required. A twenty-student minimum is required or the program is subject to cancellation.

- If you are currently receiving financial aid, ACCENT’s Deferred Payment Plan may allow you to defer payment of up to 40% of the ACCENT program fees by using Financial Aid awarded through your school.
