Program Overview

Program Description:
Courses will be offered in history, English, and French (at the undergraduate level). The program is designed for freshmen and sophomores, but juniors, seniors and students of all majors are welcome. Southern Miss has a long tradition of offering a semester of study in France. The 2015 program marks a significant new direction for the program, offering students an enticing urban location in the heart of Europe with top-flight accommodations and expanded opportunities for field trips and cultural enrichment. If you plan to arrive early or stay beyond the program dates, you may need a French visa. It is your responsibility to look into regulations regarding this. If you are staying within the program dates you do not need a visa. Only those who will be in-country 90 days or more will need to complete the "Long-Stay Visa Application Form" and follow the instructions listed on the website. Should you need documentation from the program, please contact us sooner rather than later. All students must notify us, in writing, with their dates abroad if they are different from those listed above. (Please do not book individual flight without director's consent.) Are you interested in spending a semester in the heart of Europe of one of France's most vibrant cities? The Southern Miss Semester-in-France program is returning for spring 2015, now based in Strasbourg, France, offering freshmen and sophomores an immersive liberal arts curriculum led by Southern Miss professors. For 2015, the program will be housed in a château 10 minutes outside of Strasbourg, a beautiful and exciting city of 300,000 and home of the European Parliament and the European Court of Human Rights.

The Château Program will offer the following credit. All students are required to be registered for a minimum of 13 hours and a maximum of 16 hours. All classes are 3 hours unless otherwise stated. Cost:
The Château Program costs $8900. The cost includes tuition, insurance, accommodations, mandatory excursions, round-trip in-country airport transfers*, transfer from Paris to Strasbourg, breakfast daily at The Château, six-day transportation pass for Paris, public transportation pass for the entire stay in Strasbourg, and a four-day museum pass in Paris.
