Program Overview

Program Description:
The Emory in France program, under the auspices of the Department of French and Italian, offers intensive immersion study in Paris. Students may choose either to live in private homes with French families or in a pension. Curriculum, housing, and excursions are designed to build proficiency in French and to increase knowledge of French customs and institutions.

Academic Focus: French Studies: Language, Culture, and Literature. This program is open to all majors, but may be particularly suitable to students with academic interests in the majors listed above. Eligibility Requirements: Two semesters of college-level French or equivalent. Minimum 2.0 GPA; good academic standing; at least 18 years of age; completion of a full year of college; and currently enrolled in a college/university. Courses: The course of study is on intermediate and advanced levels. All program participants are required to select two courses for a total of eight Emory credit hours. The French classes are taught only in French.

The total cost of the program includes an academic fee and a program fee for room, partial board, and insurance.
Setting Description:
Enjoy excursions to the theater, ballet, Charters, the Loire Valley, Versailles, and the champagne caves and cathedral in Reims.
