Program Overview

Program Description:

Students study three of Shakespeare's Italian plays (Julius Caesar, The Taming of the Shrew and The Merchant of Venice). Additionally, students will tour Rome most mornings with faculty guides and take a trip to Venice and Padua. Unlike most study programs, your classroom is Rome, as well as the other cities and cites you visit.

The program helps students prepare for college through small group discussions and writing tutorials; students emerge sharper readers and more polished writers. Three hours of college credit is awarded to students who successfully complete the program.

Setting Description:
The Eugene Constantin Rome Campus is located in Due Santi ("The Two Saints"), a historic district south of Rome that was named in honor of Saints Peter and Paul. The ten-acre campus is some 22 km (13.5 miles) southeast of Rome on the Via Appia Nuova.
Cost:
The total program cost covers tuition, airfare from a central hub city, land travel, documentation fees, room and board in Rome and "on the road", as well as all museum fees and entry passes to historical sites. With the exception of no more than a few lunches on extended tours, all meals are provided, including a pool party on campus and a farewell dinner in Rome.
