Program Description:

New York Film Academy (NYFA) Australia's Gold Coast campus offers long-term, semester, 8-week, 4-week, & 1-week programs in a variety of filmmaking and visual arts disciplines. Students from all over the world come to NYFA Gold Coast to study with and create projects with peers from many different countries. Since 2011, NYFA Gold Coast has offered hands-on courses taught by award-winning instructors and filmmakers. NYFA’s programs are valuable to students from all disciplines who wish to enhance life skills, tell better stories, develop confidence, and hone creativity.

NYFA Australia’s campus is located in Southport at a state of the art facility. In addition to having the opportunity to do production work in the backlot of the renowned Village Roadshow Studies as well as participate in Hot Sets at Warner Bros. Movie World, students will also be able to benefit from additional facilities at our Southport location.

Please note: Space in NYFA Gold Coast programs is limited and demand is high. We recommend that prospective students apply early to secure a space.

Setting Description:
Australia's Gold Coast boasts a diverse landscape and offers some of the best locations in the world for making & studying film. Golden beaches, tropical rainforests, rugged countrysides and a modern city skyline are just some of the backdrops that keep the biggest filmmakers in the world coming back to the Gold Coast. NYFA Australia is located in the heart of the city at our state-of-the-art facility in Southport, which is the leading Educational and Creative Arts precinct of the Gold Coast. The campus is close to the beach & Surfer's Paradise. Students will have the opportunity to do production work at the renowned Village Roadshow Studios, adjacent to Warner Bros Movie World, which students will now participate in hot sets once a month. The Village Roadshow Studios has been the site for many Hollywood films such as San Andreas, Unbroken, Pirates of the Caribbean–Dead Men Tell No Tales. Students have the opportunity to learn and create in a real film industry environment.
