- CISabroad made my Abroad Experience one to Remember!09/16/19
Thanks to CISabroad, my study abroad experience was absolutely fantastic. They helped me through every step, including not only registering but they were also on-site with us in Sorrento! They organized many events such as a lemon garden tour, a trip
to Napoli, and a wonderful welcome and farewell dinner. While being in Italy is definitely a culture shock, CISabroad was there with us every step of the way, with the on-site coordinator, the many cultural experiences they scheduled, and by being available to answer any questions at any point along the journey.

CISabroad Summer on the Italian Coast at Sant'Anna Institute in Sorrento was an incredible Italian experience. Coordination with CISabroad during the application process and closer to the departure date was always super easy, and I felt as ready as I
could be for the new culture. In Sorrento, I never felt unsafe, which helped because I had quite a long walk to school (25-30 minutes). I would definitely recommend staying with a host family or on Sant'anna's campus, because apartments could be between 15-30 minutes away, and Sant'Anna is located just a few steps away from the heart of Sorrento or the beach. There are plenty of excursions organized by both Sant'Anna and CISabroad, so I rarely found myself without something new to see. Sorrento is an amazing location with easy connections to the Amalfi Coast, Capri, and Naples, and many of my friends used the proximity to Naples to go on trips to Spain, Amsterdam, or other locations in Italy. The classes were mostly laid-back; I never spent late nights doing homework and had plenty of time during the week to cook dinner with friends or go on local excursions. My only issue with classes was that some classes at Sant'Anna ended up not being offered, so many students (including me) had last minute changes to their schedule. This greatly complicated the transfer credit process at my home university, but was not necessarily the fault of CISabroad. The bottom line is that Sorrento is the best location for a laid-back Italian travel experience during the summer. You'll feel like a local by the end of the trip, and should take advantage of all the excursion opportunities offered to you through Sant'Anna and CIS. I miss Sorrento so much!
