Program Description:

The Dual City Summer Sessions began in 2006 as a range of practical art and design courses that commenced at Central Saint Martins in London and end in Milan, Barcelona or Paris. The partner schools in these programs are all colleges with outstanding reputations based in cities famous for their culture and creativity. These unique courses are the perfect opportunity for students to develop skills, sample the environment of these prestigious institutions and make new friends while learning the latest industry thinking from an impressive roll call of tutors, many of whom have their own external art or design practices.

In 2013, Dual City crosses the Atlantic Ocean with an exciting new series of international short courses linking two world class cities and iconic institutions: Parsons The New School for Design and Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design. New York City and London are vibrant urban centres that share in their abundance of learning opportunities in art and design. The existing industries of architecture, fashion, finance, and education, provide the student with exceptional models to study as well as experience, first hand. Where better to plug into this energy, view the latest trends and collaborate with fellow students in art and design thinking while building a new network of contacts from around the world? The Course Program: New York: 24 - 28 June > Independent Travel > London: 1 – 5 July Monday – Friday of the first week will be at Parsons in New York City followed by a weekend of travel to London. Monday - Friday of the second week will be at Central Saint Martins in London. Setting Description:

Parsons The New School for Design in New York and Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London are two of the world’s most prestigious colleges of Art and Design. Parsons and Central Saint Martins have outstanding reputations for excellence in education. Students participating in the Dual City Program will benefit from the expertise of full time faculty and visiting lecturers. Coursework will integrate exploration in these dynamic cities - galleries, museums and historical sites, while leaving time after class for nightlife – dining, bars and theater during the late evenings and weekends
