Program Overview

Program Description:
The M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction program in either Mathematics or English Language Learners is a seven quarter, 40 quarter credit program with summer classes and one class quarterly in evenings during the academic year. First year coursework deepens a participant's content knowledge and teaching effectiveness while he/she prepares to earn the chosen endorsement . In year two participants read and critique relevant original research and conduct classroom action research to increase their ability to identify and address the learning needs of all students and develop effective, research-based instructional strategies. At program conclusion, participants present their findings in a research paper and public presentation.
