- Program Description:
- The purpose of the MTh in pastoral counseling is to provide a context for persons who have achieved MDiv-level competence in practical theology and related disciplines to undertake advanced study in pastoral counseling. The MTh program provides academic preparation but not professional certification. Such studies may constitute an end in themselves or may lead to doctoral studies in pastoral counseling and/or clinical training leading to professional certification through the Canadian Association for Pastoral Practice and Education (CAPPE) and/or the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) or to specialized ministry in institutional settings and the church.
