Program Description:
The Western Carolina University MSN Nursing Administration program prepares nurses for the role of nurse administrator with a focus on culturally and linguistically appropriate services. All academic courses are taught online. Practicum placements are available in a variety of settings in or near the students' communities. Students complete a thesis or scholarly project and must pass comprehensive exams in addition to coursework. Applicants will be selected for admission to the MSN Program on the basis of intellectual ability, ability to think independently, ability to communicate, self-reliance, motivation, performance, compatibility of professional goals with those of the program, and other qualities appropriate to graduate study in nursing. The Nursing Administration Program requires 40 to 41 semester hours of coursework, depending on selection of thesis or project. Application deadline for Fall term is April 15; for Spring term - October 15.
