Program Description:

Combining both practice and theory and tailored to meet studentsÆ backgrounds and needs, the program in Spiritual Direction is designed to assist persons to discern a call to the ministry of spiritual direction and to prepare them to exercise this gift responsibly. The specific spiritual direction courses focus on the practical development and application of skills necessary in the direction setting. Work with directees is supervised by both an individual supervisor and a theological reflection group, the latter facilitated by experienced spiritual directors. This practical component is complemented by a solid academic base exploring the rich variety of traditions of spiritual direction. The Graduate Certificate in Spiritual Direction does not imply certification or credentials to practice spiritual direction.
