Program Overview

Program Description:
Physics is an indispensable part of modern society. Life would be entirely different without computer chips, lasers, mri screening and all the other benefits of physics research. The Master’s programme in Physics gives you plenty of opportunities to study and engage in fundamental, groundbreaking research and its applications. Your job opportunities as a Master of Physics cover a wide range. Physicists are employed by research institutes such as TNO, ECN, RIVM and KNMI, large multinationals like Shell and Philips, and by telecommunications companies and banks. There are also plenty of openings in the public sector, software houses and consultancy agencies. If you have chosen the Research profile, you can work as an assistant researcher at a university, where you will spend four years working on a research project that leads to a PhD.
