Program Description:

The program intends to instill in learners an appreciation for how market efficiency and democratic values must be respected and balanced to promote the public good. Students will be able to apply their analytical, communication, problem solving and research skills to the complex and often interconnected and interdisciplinary problems faced by mangers and leaders in government agencies and non-profit organizations.

Coursework for the Nonprofit Organizations emphasis includes: Introduction to Nonprofit Governance, Government and Nonprofit Financial Management, Grant Writing and Administration, Strategic Management for Public and Nonprofit Organizations, and Information Systems and Public Management.

Because UIU graduates are able to leverage the connections between theory and practice to help solve problems, they will be well qualified to assume managerial and leadership positions in the government and in the non-profit sector.
