The department's M.S. programs and research focus on science and technology communication in agriculture, natural resources, the environment, health, nutrition, and family and consumer affairs. It also has a strong program in international development communication. The Ph.D. program is clearly a theory and research degree. Most graduates of the doctoral program go into academic careers or work for research institutions.
