- The Department of Italian Studies has always received very high grading from the Ontario Council on Graduate Studies. It is among the very few in North America which offers a specialization not only in Italian literature but also in Italian linguistics. The Department participate in the following collaborative programs: Book History and Print Culture, Editing Medieval and Early Modern Texts, and Women's Studies. The department's members are all well established scholars, who have produced 40 books over the past five years. The department's 40 graduate students come from several parts of Canada, the United States, and Europe.
