Program Overview

Program Description:
Designed to meet the postgraduate development needs of current and potential managers in health andpublic service organizations, this new award aims to promote multi-agency working between health, social care, justice and local government organizations in the public, private and voluntary sectors. The course is run jointly by the Faculty of Health and Social Care and Bristol Business School, and draws on the expertise of a wide range of academics and practitioners. The award provides students with a comprehensive grounding in managing within the turbulent and changing context of the public services. This requires students to consider policy changes and the wider sociopolitical and economic contexts in which these occur, the resulting impact on professional roles, internal organizational dynamics and the management of change within and between public service organizations. A changing policy and organization context has created the need for managers to manage in an increasingly complex and uncertain environment.
