Program Overview

Program Description:

The Cancer Biology discipline of the Integrated Biomedical Sciences program trains the next generation of cancer researchers. We break down traditional barriers by bringing together faculty, curricula and accessibility to infrastructure that optimize training of graduate students as cancer researchers and educators to meet the growing demands for scientists trained in multiple facets of cancer biology. Faculty in Cancer Biology possess a broad range of expertise in cancer research, including genomics/proteomics, cell signaling and receptor biology, tumor immunology, DNA repair, structural biology, viral oncogenesis, drug discovery, chemoprevention, experimental therapeutics, and clinical trials. Our curriculum stresses both basic and translational research to provide the broad background in oncology needed for today's — and tomorrow's — research.
