This MSc course combines the theoretical with the practical, giving our graduates the most robust and versatile set of technical skills and knowledge possible, and a clear competitive advantage in the employment market. The course provides comprehensive understanding in the science and applied engineering aspects needed to devise cost-effective solutions for real world problems in the sustainable development and management of urban land and water. Teaching is research-led and provided by academic and industry instructors who are leaders in the fields of urban water management and environmental engineering. Some modules are co-run with our popular and highly respected Geological Society-endorsed short courses short courses in Continuing Professional Development, giving you an opportunity to learn from lecturers with a range of expertise, and interact with professionals already working in the field. It provides an ideal forum for you to meet industry practitioners, make contacts and develop future career opportunities.

The programme of study is a balance of theoretical, technical and practical aspects designed to provide the best preparation for a rewarding career. Module content is leading edge, drawing inspiration from research conducted in the Groundwater Protection and Restoration Group, the Pennine Water Group and elsewhere. Instructors are world recognised UK and international experts from both academic and industry backgrounds.

Flexibility in study is built into this course. Our entry requirements are flexible, and we accept applicants from a wide range of backgrounds and professional experience. We offer full time and part time studies.

Accreditation:
We are pleased to offer the Sheffield Scholarship 2016 to all US students commencing a Taught Masters programme in September 2016. The scholarships are: • £2,000 if your tuition fees are between £14,500 and £16,500 • £2,500 for each student paying fees of £16,501 and upwards We also offer scholarships of 50% of the course fee which will be offered on the basis of academic merit.
