Program Description:

The International Summer School offers a unique international education program, balancing classroom instruction in a broad-based curriculum, academic field trips and free weekends for personal travel. All instruction is in English.

Founded in 1976, the International Summer School has a proven record of success as one of the largest study abroad programs of its kind offered by a U.S. university. Each summer the program enrolls some 250 students in approximately 50 courses in Business, Arts, Sciences, and Humanities. In 2005, the summer school was awarded the Euro-Atlantic Culture Award for International Education.

Participants earn up to 9 credits and choose among 50 courses in a multitude of disciplines. Class sizes are limited to 15 students per class. The program further offers a number of field trips and extra-curricular activities, which further enhance the international experience for students on this program.

Setting Description:
Enjoying a spectacular location in the heart of the Austrian Alps, Innsbruck offers a perfect setting for learning and leisure. Its central location in Europe provides easy access to many destinations of interest, such as Munich, Prague, Vienna, Venice, Florence, and Paris. Innsbruck gained worldwide attention in 1964 and again in 1976 as host to the Winter Olympics.
Cost:
The program cost is $5,495.00 (University of New Orleans degree-seeking students) / $5,995.00 (Guest students) which includes tuition for up to 9 credits and all university fees, accommodations in a double room, breakfast and lunch on class days, some field trips and extra-curricular activities, round-trip bus transportation between Innsbruck and the Munich airport on arrival and departure days, nursing services and medical insurance. Cost does not include airfare and other personal expenses.

Additional Program Information

Requirements:
Undergraduates with a 2.5 cumulative GPA and graduate students with a 3.0 cumulative GPA are eligible to apply to the UNO-Innsbruck International Summer School. Non-UNO students must submit an official transcript and other application materials to the UNO-Innsbruck program administration. New students seeking college credit must meet the general admission requirements of the University of New Orleans.
