Throughout the course of a semester, students have the opportunity to learn and strengthen their Hebrew skills based on four major skills: writing, reading, speaking, and comprehension. During the academic semesters, Hebrew classes meet four days per week, Mondays through Thursdays, for two hours each morning. This program is open to students of the International School, tourists, new and 'old' immigrants, who want to improve their Hebrew skills.
Intensive Winter Program
26 January 2015-19 February 2015 | 5 Credits
During the winter semester break, an intensive Hebrew session is offered at all levels. Classes meet five hours a day, five days a week.
Intensive Summer Program
6 July-30 July, 2015 and 3 August - 27 August, 2015 | 5 Credits
During the months of July and August, two consecutive sessions of intensive Ulpan are offered at all levels of proficiency. Classes meet five hours a day, five days week.
The University of Haifa International School is known for its Hebrew Ulpan, the most effective language learning program in Israel. If demand allows, we also have a Special Track for Native Hebrew Speakers designed for students who speak and understand Hebrew (ie: children of Israelis living abroad), but whose reading and writing skills are weak or nonexistent.
The Ulpan is designed for those who want to immerse themselves in an intensive language acquisition experience that is personally enriching as well as academically demanding. Instruction is offered on on all levels from beginning to advanced. All of our programs reward academic credits. Students are invited to join extra-curricular programs to see the country and practice the language skills they are learning throughout the course of each program. Trips, tours, and special events take place on a weekly basis and students can register for any or all activities.
All of our programs are fully academically accredited. Our rigorous Hebrew instruction attracts students from all around the world, creating a dynamic learning environment.
