Program Overview

Program Description:
We have designed our unique MA/MFA Acting (International) for our international students, to offer the traditional acting skills, including voice, movement and singing, and approaches to rehearsal and public performances. You draw upon existing practice but this is supplemented with specific teaching that helps international students. We also include advanced practical acting skills and the study of Shakespeare and other classical traditions. Our MA Acting (International) runs for 12 months. If you are a first-language student (USA, Canada, Australia etc) then you concentrate on accent/dialect and RP. If you are a second-language student, then you focus on accent, rhythm, stress and diction. Our graduates receive a comprehensive training, so can pursue careers in theatre and related professions in this increasingly global industry. Our MFA Acting (International) runs for 20 months. If you are a first-language student (USA, Canada, Australia etc) then you concentrate on accent/dialect and RP. If you are a second-language student, then you focus on accent, rhythm, stress and diction. Our MFA students take a second year to work within a repertory company on fully-staged productions written and performed in English. We also run a field study option for our MFA students at GITIS in Moscow. Our graduates receive a comprehensive training, so can pursue careers in theatre and related professions in this increasingly global industry.
