Program Description:

The University of Essex is one of the UK´s leading academic institutions, ranked ninth nationally for research excellence following the last Research Assessment Exercise (RAE).

The Department of Biological Sciences is a leading centre for estuarine and coastal zone ecology, a major centre for studies in molecular medicine and biotechnology, has an active group in plant biology and photosynthesis and an international reputation for the development and application of fluroescence imaging technology.

Developed in collaboration with practising biomedical scientists, this course is aimed at biomedical and clinical scientists working in NHS laboratories in the eastern region. It offesr this group of health professionals the chance to develop their skills and enhance their careers.

Two dedicated modules in modern techniques are offered which give the students the opportunity to gain practical experience in the latest modern techniques in biomedical science, learning how these may be used in a clinical setting.
