Program Description:
Namibia, famous for its Namib Desert and national parks, possesses some of the most striking ecosystems on the African continent. Distinctive African megafauna can be observed as well as unique species of birds, reptiles, and amphibians. Botanically, Namibia offers an enormous variety of arid-region succulent plants. Participants will visit the true costal Namib Desert, traversing inland through the cline of arid and semi arid habitats and exploring first-hand the change of climate and landscape. Students will also travel to the enigmatic Epupa Falls, situated along the Kunene River in a mopane savanna

Setting Description:
Namibia has one of the best developed infrastructures for tourism in Africa and has a large number of campgrounds and good roads. Long established nature conservation programs allow visitors to fully experience African ecosystems, as well as the local people and their cultures.
