Program Description:

Gerontology is the study of ageing in all its aspects. Thus, the subject covers topics as diverse as cell changes in later life, funeral arrangements in Victorian times, nursing care for older adults, age-associated changes in intellectual functioning, and provision of education facilities for the over-sixties. Our Gerontology course enables you to study topics with this degree of breadth, or alternatively, you may elect to pursue a more specialised course, and principally confine yourself to modules drawn either from the social sciences or from health studies. Which combination of modules you take is up to you, following consultation with your tutors. However, all are united in a common purpose - to provide you with a greater understanding ofageing and what it means to 'grow older'.
