Program Overview

Program Description:
Our exchange affiliation with HAN University of Applied Sciences enables students to Dutch and European Business culture at its source and is intended for U.S. students interested in a hands-on approach to developing business competencies: knowledge, skills and professional attitude. Students will visit local Dutch companies as part of the program, and will have free time on the weekends to travel independently.

Students will earn 4 credits during the three week course. The first week of class starts with introductions to Dutch and European Culture and Economy and is followed by a business case. This case consists of a company visit, a written group assignment for this particular company, and an oral presentation. European Logistics, Consumer Behavior, and Business Law. The third and final week is reserved for the Business Management Game. Students work together in a 'management team'; making executive decisions in multicultural groups, applying business knowledge, intercultural skills and a professional attitude.? Organized day trips to Rotterdam and Amsterdam are part of the program and take place on Fridays. Students choose from 2 identical sessions; Session 1: June 5th - 25th 2010 Session 2: June26th – July 17th 2010.

Setting Description:
Accommodation is provided off campus in shared housing on the basis of self catering in the village of Groesbeek, near Nijmegen. Each modern bungalow at the "Seven Hills" resort sleeps 5-6 people in double bedrooms and has a bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen. Bed linen and towels are included. Wireless Internet is available for free in all the bungalows. During their stay, students can use the resort's facilities such as a gym, swimming pool and spa for free.
