Program Description:
MA Cultural Geography (Research): This programme explores the central themes of cultural geography, especially the relationships between place, identity, nature and culture. ESRC recognised; AHRC studentships also available. MSc Practising Sustainable Development: This MSc addresses practices and policies of sustainable development, helping to ensure that development serves the long-term interests of poor people and communities. ESRC recognised. MSc Quaternary Science: This MSc provides specialist training in the scientific study of past environmental change, including laboratory and fi eld techniques. The programme is offered jointly with UCL. NERC studentships available. MSc Sustainability & Management (taught with the School of Management): This programme provides an advanced-level introduction to principles of environmental sustainability and corporate social responsibility. ESRC recognised. The Department welcomes applications for PhD research across the full range of our research interests. The Department has research links and collaborative studentship projects with a wide range of organisations including the British Library, the Natural History Museum, the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG), the British Museum, the Science Museum, the British Geological Survey, English Nature, the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, Street Child Africa, Cisco Systems, and the Centre for the Development of People, Kumasi, Ghana.
