Program Description:
This programme aims to equip the next generation of pipeline engineers with appropriate qualifications. It is designed to meet the specific requirements of the oil and gas sector, covering both high-pressure offshore and onshore pipelines. It is highly regarded by prospective employers and will enable you to practise as a pipeline engineer. A unique feature of this programme is the high level of participation by the oil and gas industry in specifying the curriculum so that it meets their requirements.

You take compulsory modules (120 credits) and a research project and dissertation (60 credits).Compulsory modules include: fundamentals of pipeline engineering; materials and fabrication; corrosion and corrosion control; civil and geotechnical aspects of pipeline engineering; pipeline structural analysis; safety, risk and environmental management; dynamics of offshore installations; hydrocarbon production and process engineering; design and construction; asset management; elements of economics and business finance.

The programme is also available with a Preliminary Year, which provides you with the necessary knowledge to study at Master's level. You select one module (20 credits) from: marine engineering design; marine design; offshore design; small craft design. You also take 70 credits of optional modules and complete a project and report (30 credits).
